At Bespoke Dental Clinic, our first choice when looking at dental repairs is our dental fillings service.

Fillings are made of a combination of materials used to repair or restore your teeth. One of the most common types of filling is a dental amalgam, a silver-coloured mixture of metals used to “fill” an area of a tooth that has been removed due to acavity, which isa hole in the tooth.

At Bespoke Dental & Implant Clinic, we also offer composite fillings which will be the same colour as your teeth and are made up of resin and glass. Fillings are also used to repair broken or cracked teeth. The filling process is simple and a perfect solution for minor issues in your teeth. The first step is performing a composite filling procedure finishing with a special bonding to help you enjoy the perfect smile.

About Dental Fillings

We have a range of filling materials to suit everyone. Temporary fillings to permanent fillings are available with a range of colours to match your existing teeth. If you have had composite bonding, and in need of a white bleach shade of composite, rest assured this is available and can be provided by our cosmetic Dentists.

We take great pride in providing fillings (restorations) for our patients. When a quality filling is provided, the tooth can perform naturally without the need for advance and risky treatment. Early intervention is key to maintaining a healthy dentition. We advise all our patients not to delay treatment otherwise the risk of nerve pain and infection increases.

At Bespoke Dental & Implant Clinic, we aim to restore teeth to have a stable prognosis greater than 10 years. If we feel the filling is inadequate we will discuss options for crowns or veneers with you. The right treatment plan and right choice of restoration for teeth makes all the difference. Our highly qualified Dentists are here to make it easier for you to achieve a healthy set of teeth. Our Dentists are here to educate you on the best approaches to restore your teeth. Unfortunately, we have seen people undertake the wrong treatment which has very quickly backfired leaving them needing more treatment and bigger dental bills. We believe in making the best and the right decisions early to give you a stress free and stable dentition for many years.

How to Prevent Decay?

Good oral hygiene, brushing twice a day and flossing in between teeth is paramount.

  • Do you use an electric or manual tooth brush? Did you know both methods are adequate and suitable? Please speak to us about the best method and techniques to use for a perfect clean.
  • Diet: Sugar is converted into acid which forms holes or cavities in the teeth. This is precisely why our sugar consumption must be monitored and ideally restricted to meal times. Please take time to read the food labels to understand the sugar content. Thankfully there are many sugar free alternatives available today. We understand that the transition can be difficult for many people but we believe 21 days makes a habit. Try it, go for a sugar free alternative on your favourite snack or drinks for 21 days. Not only will your teeth be safer from cavities but you will also reduce that unnecessary calorie intake.
  • See your Dentist Regularly! For majority of people this means seeing your Dentist twice a year, but for high risk individuals, this may mean seeing your dentist three monthly. Many people make the mistake of seeing the Dentist when they are in pain. We want to educate our patients on the importance of maintenance. General checks with your Dentist are designed to prevent Dental emergencies and prevent small cavities turning into dental nightmares. Never undermine a good general check up with your Dentist, they are highly qualified and are trained to detect early signs of oral cancer.
  • See your Dental Hygienist regularly! A dental hygienist is trained and equipped to provide advice on your level of dental hygiene and ways to improve. We find patients who visit a Dental Hygienist regularly are less prone to Dental nightmares. Even the most meticulous of hygienic patients can benefit from a hygienist. The Dental hygienist has the ability to get to those hard to reach areas as well cleansing the gums beyond the reach of a toothbrush.
